Rosemary's Forest Hills Retreat from 18 - 20 November
2011 was a tremendous success, and thank you to everyone who attended. We've been overwhelmed by the gifts
and messages of thanks we've received, and we're particularly pleased that our retreat scheduled for November 2012
is already full. The photo's below give just a little flavour of what we got up to.
Many people were able to join us at our shop on Friday 18th between 2.00pm
- 4.00pm for coffee and cake, and if was great to see so many hapy face, old and new. We met again formally at the hotel
at 6.15pm, and after registration, picking up lanyards, and an introduction from Rosemary, we went off to the restuarant to
enjoy a three course meal.
When we returned, the ladies were all greeted by a bag full of goodies at their table.
Many people had travelled a long way, and some had joined us after work, so Friday evenings project was nice and easy - this
Festive House hanger. Two lucky ladies also received a spot prize and a raffle prize.

After everyone had gone off to bed on Friday, we set out the project packs
for Saturday morning, and a hot pink apron in each ladies place printed with 'I'm a Crab Apple Crafter'.

After a full English
breakfast, the project for Saturday morning was this gorgeous hanging book which had all kinds of photomats and
hidden pockets on its seven pages. We awarded spot and raffle prizes throughout the day.

After a scrumptious two course lunch we made this Advent Calender out of a wooden
chopping board, and the ladies received their Forest Hills Retreat Nov 2011, I was there!' key ring.

Saturday evenings meal had an early Festive theme, and people were encouraged
to dress 'appropriately' Thank you to everyone who joined in with the spirit. Afterwards, some people
just relaxed, but most came back to either make this optional sleigh project, or to finish off projects from during the day.

After Sunday morning breakfast and an optional 'out of hours' visit to Crab
Apple Crafts', the ladies were each greeted by a wrapped Christmas present at their table on arrival. We then made
this never-ending book that opened, and opened, and opened, and opened, and opened again.

After a large carvery meal (yes, we didn't stop eating all weekend), we
made two small projects and here is one of them. We covered bare wooden bobbins with paper, threaded them onto wire,
and added the button and ribbon corsage at the top.

People had been encouraged to bring along 'winter themed' projects to
inspire and everyone had the chance to vote on their favourite, and the top two each won a prize.

One of the final things for the weekend was to award prizes for the most creatively
decorated name-tags, and the prize went to Judolph (Judy) and Vixen (Vicci).

It's always sad
to say our goodbyes at the end of our retreats - and this was our 10th one - but hey, there's always next year!
